complaint letter for one of the Malaysia U!

Dear FOM and madam,

We can say it is very UNLUCKY for our batch to face such a problem compared to current Gamma Year Students, and we really ENVY them. By following exactly the 3 years course structure, we were unable to graduate on time. Is this a joke? Let’s say, if we did not follow the course structure accordingly, we can safely assume the fault will be on us. We can't blame anyone and will have no choice but to extend and we will have to accept the result. However, in our case the FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT did not follow the original and official schedule and DID NOT OFFER the particular BMK subject accordingly. Somehow, we ACCEPT OUR FATE and request the subject to be offer in the future.

Unfortunately without taking into consideration our problem seriously, our capable FOM arranges a clashing timetable not only once but twice. Perhaps the faculty is following the current political scene and creating a ruckus for nothing.  Cyberjaya, land of intelligent workers…

We are really unhappy, dissatisfied and totally disappointed in the decision announced by madam and FOM. We feel this as a very lousy excuse to sweep away our problem under the rug without any formal apology from any party involved in the planning of course schedules. We hope for a better solution but so far we had overestimated the efficiency and effectiveness of FOM.

We do not deserve this, we really have no idea of any misdoings on our side, and we can only find fault in others. Besides, we informed our problem 3 WEEKS/21 DAYS (Oh, the exact duration is ABOUT A YEAR/365 DAYS, but this is the current issue) before the trimester break to the FOM and madam. Did any department or staffs bother to recognize our problem and take some serious action? Or does working in MMU involve playing badminton at 4.30pm sharp everyday? Or does MMU lecturer’s job scope involve fetching family members when they should be teaching? FOM requires that I send a formal letter 3 WEEKS/21 DAYS before the semester starts but STILL don’t bother to tackle the problem. When we tried discussing at the counter in the 1st week of the semester, they berpura-pura nothing happened, and all the while looking stunned at what we told. We felt very surprised, and the assistant managers (both of them) surprised us further as well by going kenduri and leaving only the staffs behind during the last semester, and DELEGATED away the problem and tells us to go for the innocent lecturer and strongly stated is the lecturer’s problem. Madam, should we blame you? Hard to say lah….  Also, is it very difficult for the Dean to reply an email or to make an appointment to discuss this matter? We don't even recognize the face of the Dean. Can anybody put up a picture, so maybe on my way to class I might recognize if I do bump into the Dean? When problem arises, please solve it and not dig a hole to bury your heads. In addition, the current decision will directly influence our current study progress, in terms of emotion and may affect our study results due to the unneeded extension of our programme. Stress and pressure from the family and university push us to the dead end, while there is seem to be no way out at all with the final decision.

Madam, do you know the consequences of having to extend? You probably would not, judging it’s not your problem, and people think for themselves anyways. Living cost extended, rental extended to 1 year (extend 1 sem what for to pay 1 year for a contract for rental), extra fees (MMU many small random fees) except the course fee. Got graduate certificate? Nope.... When? 2010? WAIT AN EXTRA YEAR FOR MY DEGREE CERT???? How about our job after next sem? Makan sendiri? Internship (Wow not enough?) If MMU compensate us for all those fees and cost, we have no problem to say yes to extend. I HAVE TO CANCEL MY JOB OFFER FOR THIS!!!!! Not everybodyBORN WITH SILVER SPOON. Madam and FOM, please consider the consequences before going through with the decision. We understand the limitations but we hope for a better solution not just a simple “NO” and then close the case. You really want to make us suffer without any pity and mercy?

Anyways, we ARE EXPECTING that in the next semester, MARKETING RESEARCH is offered by the Faculty. After all the trouble, we will be really unstable if that does not happen.

PS: Madam, what time you sleep? 2am?  What an unhealthy lifestyle….. Or should you change service provider? Waste my effort and money….

Oh yeah... 2 more days to go for FOM's celebration for our Extension.
